Friends talking over coffee

Our story

A café named after the pot our grandmothers poured from.

Where Dalla House began

A dallah is the long-spouted pot used to serve Arabic coffee to guests. For us, it stands for one thing: making people feel welcome.

Hamad Al-Aali grew up with gahwa at every family gathering. Years later, working in Melbourne's specialty coffee scene, he realised the two worlds had more in common than anyone thought: both care about freshness, patience and sharing.

In 2019 he came home, rented a small corner in Adliya and installed a roaster in the back room. The idea was simple: roast fresh beans every week, serve them with the hospitality of a Bahraini majlis, and never rush anyone out the door.

Today Dalla House is a team of twelve, and some of the regulars from opening week still sit at the same window table.
