About Dr Henri Miles

Twenty years in the operating theatre
Dr Miles specialises in general and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, with a particular interest in abdominal and hernia surgery.
After training in London and Paris, he spent more than two decades operating in leading teaching hospitals. Over that time he noticed the same problem again and again: patients arriving for surgery confused, anxious, and unsure whether they had other options.
In 2019 he started offering private online consultations so that patients anywhere could speak with an experienced surgeon before making a decision about their body. Today he consults with patients from more than 30 countries, and still operates regularly at partner hospitals around the world.
Patients describe him as calm, direct and unhurried. He never rushes a consultation, and he will tell you honestly when surgery is not the right answer.
