Common questions

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. You can book directly. If you have letters from your own doctors, share them before the call so Dr Miles has the full picture.

Which video platform do you use?

Consultations take place on a secure, encrypted video platform. You receive the link by email before your appointment. It works on a phone, tablet or computer with no app to install.

Can a family member join the call?

Yes. Many patients bring a partner or relative. Just tell the team in your booking so they know who will be on the call.

Can Dr Miles prescribe medication?

Online consultations focus on diagnosis, surgical advice and treatment planning. Dr Miles can recommend medication, which your local doctor can then prescribe.

What if I need surgery?

Dr Miles will explain your options. He can arrange surgery at one of his partner hospitals, or work with your local surgical team.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. Your records are stored securely, shared only with Dr Miles and his team, and never passed to anyone else without your permission.

What if I have an emergency?

This service is not for emergencies. If you are seriously unwell, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department straight away.
